How do I get the most out of my candle? There are a few basic candle tips to get the best candle burning experience. 1. Always trim your wicks! This is a crucial step in the care and longevity of a candle. A good measurement is approximately 1/8 inch. This length with help with a cleaner, brighter burn. It will also avoid smokey vessel walls as well. Trim before each use and never trim the wick while the candle is lit. Always wait to trim the wick when the wax has solidified and cooled. 2. Try to create a 'memory pool' the first time you light your candle. After you trim your wick burn your candle approximately 1 hour for every inch in diameter of your jar/vessel. For example JAC Candles are about 3 inches in diameter so you would burn the candle 3 hours the first time so the wax melts to the edge of the vessel. Every time you relight your candle the wax should melt out to the edge. Not burning it long enough the first time could cause a 'tunneling' effect for the life of the candle. 3. Be safe. Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface. Keep it out of drafty areas, as well as out of reach of childern and pets. NEVER leave the candle unattended while lit.

What are wetspots? That's a candle term for patches in the candle that look 'wet' that aren't really wet. The spots occur with shrinkage of the wax from the change in temperature in or around the candle. This is a very common occurrence where the wax pulls away from the glass or container. This happens in very well know brand name candles and high end lines as well. It in no way afffects the burnability of the candle.
